Summer Internship at Carolina Golf Club, Charlotte, NC

Interns will work along side the Golf Course Superintendent and the Assistant Superitendents on a daily basis. Their work will consist of all aspects of golf course maintenance including: daily course setup and maintenance, tournament preparation and setup, summer bentgrass management, fertilizer and chemical calibrations and applications, irrigation control and repair.

Candidates need to possess a positive attitude and strong dedication to their craft in order to maximize their internship experience. Individuals must be willing to work long hours, have a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn.

Turf Management Intern at Lake Burton Club, Clayton, GA Lake Burton Club offers panoramic views of North Georgia Mountains.  Lake Burton Club, located in Clayton, Georgia, is a private retreat of homes and homesites with incredible views of the lake, mountains, and golf course. A Reynolds Club Community, Lake Burton Club’s 18-hole championship golf course is Bentgrass from tee to green.

This internship offers a great educational experience for an individual who is motivated, eager to learn, and willing to work hard. 

Duties and Responsibilities:   To assist the superintendent and assistant superintendent with all aspects of golf course maintenance, including green management, safety, mowing, irrigation, and facility care.

Salary:    $8.60/hour with overtime

Job Description : Intern will be involved in a full turf grass conversion of greens from penncross bentgrass to Champion bermudagrass. Position will also aid the assistant superintendent in day to day operations of the course. Which will include: course setup, chemical/fertilizer applications,irrigation control, repair and installation.

Willow Creek was designed by Willard Byrd in 1964. Willow Creek has hosted numerous tournaments some of which are: a regular stop on the LPGA tour for 10 years, The North Carolina Amateur, and the National Senior Amatuer Hall of Fame tournament. This coming summer the course will convert its existing bentgrass greens to Champion bermudagrass. New greens loop irrigation with new heads, wires, valves and controllers will be installed. There will be a pond enlargement, as well as extensive tee box work. Interns will be involved in all aspects of the golf course renovation project as well as all aspects of golf course operations, and daily maintenance. Interns should possess a positive attitude and dedication to receive the most out of the internship. Individuals looking to further their turf knowledge as well as agronomic experience, should have a strong work ethic, be prepared to work long hours, pay close attention to detail and show eagerness to learn.
