River Run Country Club is seeking highly motivated individuals with a positive attitude, and eagerness to learn and gain experience in the turfgrass industry.

The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek is an 18-hole premier, private course designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2002. Routed along the Kiawah River, Briar’s Creek preserves its natural environment and Lowcountry landscape as an Audubon style course. The Club plays host to the Woman’s NCAA Briar’s Creek Invitational tournament. Greens are Tifeagle. Fairways, rough, and tees are 419 Bermuda. 

This position provides experience in golf course maintenance at a premier golf club. Intern will assist in daily course maintenance, fertilizer/chemical applications, irrigation troubleshooting and repair, and other various projects and course improvements. This internship will also allow direct exposure to the installation and operation of a new irrigation pump system.

Candidate must be a highly-motivated team player, with a passion for the industry. He or she should maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn and lead. 

Additional qualifications include:
- Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year turfgrass management program

The Duke University Golf Club is a 1957 Robert Trent Jones, Dr. design with Rees Jones completing renovations in 1994 and 2013. The golf course is situated on the edge of the Duke Forest and on the doorstep of Duke University in Durham, NC. The golf course complements the 4-Star Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club that sits adjacent to the property.

The greens were converted to 'Champion' ultradwarf in 2013. The course has 419 fairways, tees, rough with a private practice facility for the university's varsity golf teams which includes two bentgrass putting and chipping greens, practice tees, and bunkers. The Duke University Golf Club has held 2 NCAA Championships and presently host an annual collegiate, CGA and CPGA sectional tournaments. 

We are looking for 1 or 2 highly motivated students, looking to prepare for and jump start their careers. Summer interns will have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of all facets of golf course maintenance. Interns will gain experience in daily/tournament setup, mowing, cultural practices, chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation repair and maintenance, and limited administrative duties.

Governors Club is a private open year round 27 hole course with 35,000 annual rounds. Governors Club is a golfing community nestled in the rolling terrain of Chapel Hill. The community’s championship golf course is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design established in 1990. The course runs through and around Edwards Mountain. AT 600-feet above sea level, Edwards Mountain is the highest point in the triangle. Governors Club offers a variety of golfing experiences with three distinct nines appropriately named: the Lakes Course, the Foothills Course and the Mountain Course. It has recently served as host for the 2016 NC Men’s State Amateur Championship, US Open Qualifying (men 2014 and women 2015 and 2017), the Twin States Junior Girls Championship, the CGA Tarheel Cup and the CGA Carolinas Senior 4-Ball Championship. 
Governors Club has 31 Champion bermudagrass putting greens, Tifway 419 bermudagrass fairways and rough, and zoysiagrass bunker faces.
We are seeking highly motivated, team oriented individuals for this seasons Turfgrass Internships. Students will participate in a diverse range of activities involved in daily golf course maintenance.

• General golf course maintenance including mowing, trimming, water management, etc.

The Seabrook Island Club is a thirty-six hole private club open year round located on Seabrook Island near historic Charleston, SC. The Ocean Winds course was designed by Willard Byrd and constructed in 1972. The Crooked Oaks course is a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design that was constructed in 1979. Crooked Oaks was redesigned and renovated by John B. Lafoy in 1999. The $2.3 million dollar project included the complete renovation of all tee and green complexes, installation of a new irrigation system, new drainage and a complete bunker renovation. The summer of 2003 Ocean Winds was converted to Champion Bermuda and the following summer Crooked Oaks was converted. Both the Ocean Winds and Crooked Oaks courses are certified members of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program.

Greens  are Champion, Tees are Seashore Paspalum/419 Bermuda, and Fairways are 419 Bermuda. 

Experience: The Seabrook Island Club offers interns a unique opportunity to learn how to manage Ultra dwarf Bermuda along the South Carolina coast. An attempt will be made to involve interns into as many aspects of golf course maintenance as possible. These duties will include, but are not limited to:

• The daily operation of both courses (Set Up, Mow greens, rake bunkers, etc)
• Irrigation repair and maintenance (Handwatering, troubleshooting,etc)

The Cliffs at Glassy is a premier private club that was built in 1991 by designer Tom Jackson and lays beautifully on top of a 3000 ft. mountain with breath taking views on 15 of 18 holes. Golf Digest ranked it the 3rd most scenic course in the country. The course consist of bentgrass greens, tees and fairways with a blend of Kentucky blue grass/turf type tall fescue rough. Should a candidate desire cool season experience in the transition zone this would be an idea course selection. The crew consist of 25-30 members annually. The Cliffs at Glassy will make a great learning experience for an intern to achieve new skills and prepare them for entering the golf course management industry. Upon consideration please know, The Cliffs at Glassy is one of seven Cliffs Clubs located throughout the mountain and lake regions of upstate South Carolina and western North Carolina and often promotes interns and other positions within these clubs.

The intern’s responsibility will include all facets of golf course management including but not limited to fertilizer and pesticide applications as well as calibrations, extensive hand watering w/ extensive water management skills, irrigation system management and repair, management of crew members, assistance in finical budgeting and all other daily practices not mentioned.
