Champions Retreat is a 27 Hole private golf facility , open year round, with 20K annual rounds,  located in Evans, GA which is located 12 miles outside of Augusta, Ga. Course designers are Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. Champions Retreat opened in 2005 and has hosted the Augusta National Women's Amateur since its inception in 2019. Primary Grasses are Greens: TifEagle; Tees: 419 Bermudagrass; and Fairways: 419 Bermudagrass. 

This is a great opportunity for an individual that is looking to learn and advance their career in golf course management. The selected intern will work closely with management formulating daily plans and practices on the golf course. Previous golf course experience is a plus but not required. Equipment usage, goals and expectations will set once candidate completes interview to decide where their strengths and weakness may lay so that we can see a formulate a plan to help them grow. The individual should expect to apply fertilizer, pesticides, operate machinery, course set up, and irrigation.

The Cliffs at Keowee Springs is an 18 hole, Tom Fazio design, located on beautiful Lake Keowee in upstate SC. We are one of the seven golf communities within The Cliffs. We boast a large practice facility with a large driving range complimented by a impressive short game practice area. We have 007 Bentgrass greens along with TifEagle tees and 419 Bermuda fairways and rough. Great opportunity for a motivated, career driven individual, as there tends to be opportunities for advancement within our company.

The intern selected will work closely with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and crew on a daily basis with the expectation of further increasing knowledge in all aspects of golf course maintenance. Previous experience working on a golf course or related field preferred, but not required. Equipment use experience is a plus. Duties and standards required but not limited to: fertilizer and pesticide applications, course set up, small crew leadership, irrigation repair and installation, exposure to all daily maintenance, sod work, career advice and direction. The intern will also get a hands on experience in the cultural practices needed to maintain 007 Bentgrass greens at a high level.

Carmel Country Club CHARLOTTE, North Carolina Carmel Country Club is a 36-hole facility located in Charlotte, NC. The South Golf Course was renovated in 2010 by Rees Jones and consists of Zeon zoysia grass tees/fairways, Celebration Bermuda rough, and A1 bentgrass greens. The North Course was renovated in 2016 by John Fought Design. The renovation consisted of many architectural changes that include a new Toro irrigation system, course drainage, bunkers, greens, tees, and fairways. The course was grassed with Champion UltraDwarf bermudagrass greens and 419 Bermudagrass tees, fairways, and roughs. 

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Golf Course Superintendents and Assistants daily to gain multiple course experience on a variety of different turf species on one property while using some of the newest technology in the business. Beginning in 2023 Carmel interns will be exposed to the following projects planned for the season. - North Course Bunker Enhancements with the installation of Capillary Bunker liner and new sand in all course bunkers. - Installation and operation

Three Pines Country Club was designed by Bill Amick in 1962. It is a private, year round 18 hole facility with 40,000 annual rounds. It is nestled on 127 acres in Woodruff SC, right outside of the Spartanburg area. It features TifEagle greens, 419 bermudagrass tees, fairways, and rough. We are proudly hosting the SCGA State Senior Championship in 2023, as well as many other important tournaments. In the last 3 years we have made many course improvements that include a bunker renovation and irrigation upgrades. We want to continue to make other necessary improvements in the near future.

Tot Hill Farm Golf Club is excited to announce the recruitment of a seasonal intern to join our restoration team! Located in Asheboro, NC, Tot Hill Farm is one of nine Mike Strantz designs. Tot Hill Farm is a semi-private, 18 hole facility with 15,000 annaul rounds.  It has bentgrass greens, zoysia tees and 419 bermudagrass fairways.

In 2007, Golf Digest rated Tot Hill as the 7th hardest course in America. The property borders the Uwharrie National Forest, features large rock outcrops, and many rumbling creeks. It is truly a must-see and a unique opportunity for a knowledgeable, motivated intern. 

The full scope of the restoration includes but is not limited to: - Greens conversion (Bentgrass to Prizm Zoysia) - Regrassing of greens complexes, select tees, and rough extensions - Tee rebuild - Bunker restoration - Large scale tree removal to improve growing environments around all turf areas - Native grass installation - Upgrades to cartpaths, bridges, and course facilities - Stream remediation - Reclamation and trimming of natural encroachment - Enhancements to existing turfgrass health Duties: - Delegate and oversee daily maintenance operations - Assist contractors with various phases of the restoration - Apply herbicides, fertilizers, and amendments using spray equipment and push spreaders - Calculate area, calibrate equipment, and formulate spray tanks - Operate various earth moving and golf course machinery - Set timelines and objectives for the completion of delegated duties - Attend weekly staff and construction meetings The ideal candidate possesses the following characteristics: - Willingness to take direction and learn - A strong work ethic and the ability to perform in physically demanding conditions - Takes initiative - Strong oral/written communication and organization

One Summer Intern, Camden Country Club, Camden, SC

Intern must have the ability to work independently to carry out written and verbal instructions.  Eye for detail during visual inspections of the golf course conditions and clubhouse grounds.  Good organizational and prioritization skills. Experience operating all golf course equipment. Knowledge of calibration and use of spreaders, sprayers, and moisture meters.  Team-oriented leader who can be productive and supervise simultaneously.  Safety-oriented and promotes a safe work environment through training and PPE 
Must have valid drivers license.  Required to lift at least 50 Lbs. and work outside in elements. Knowledge of Southern turf grasses preferred. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Irrigation maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience. Experience managing moisture on all playing surfaces with moisture meter and hand watering practices as well as irrigation system operation

INTERN EXPECTATIONS As an intern, you will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of golf course maintenance at a premier club. INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES -Course set-up under the direction of the superintendent or assistant superintendent. -Irrigation repair and maintenance on (Rainbird) irrigation system. -Water management, chemical and fertilizer calibration and applications including fertilizing trees, greens and fairways, and under the direct supervision of a certified applicator, sprays chemicals on designated areas. -Equipment Operation including operating mowers and string trimmers in trimming common area, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; and edges cart paths.
