PGP is looking for a Regional Equipment Technician to oversee all Equipment maintenance for all of their properties. This position will be a mobile position with travel to all properties under the PGP umbrella.

Responsibilities include:

Turf Equipment Technician

Mechanic

The Big Cats at Ocean Ridge Plantation Golf has an opening for a hands-on Mechanic to repair and maintain golf course equipment, both diesel and gasoline, including reel grinding.

Primary Responsibilities:

The ProPump & Controls, Inc. Field Service Technician is responsible for service, installation, and repair of automated pump stations, pump controls, piping, valves, and related equipment, within his assigned operating area. He/ She is expected to identify opportunities for both new equipment and service sales, and work with both his Regional Field Service Manager and the Inside Sales Manager, as required, to secure orders for the company. As a representative of the company in direct contact with end-user customers, the Field Service Technician is expected to conduct himself in a highly professional manner at all times. Position can be based in Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, Charleston or Hilton Head.

Responsibilities of a ProPump Field Technician Include:
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on automated pump systems.
• Use a multimeter, process meter, megger, vibration meter, laser alignment tool, and other instruments to diagnose pump motors and controls issues.
• Instruct customers on proper procedures for operating and maintaining equipment.
• Install pump stations, pumps, and motors using cranes and other heavy equipment.
• Set up and maintain telemetry networks utilizing radios, cellular modems, DSL lines, etc.
• Perform pump station preventive maintenance, including: Lubricate motor bearings, Change oil in turbine motors, Re-pack pumps, Inspect and rebuild hydraulic control valves, Inspect and clean wye strainers and filter screens, Inspect pump screens and wet well with the use of an underwater camera, measurement of pump and motor performance
• Promote sales of company products and services to solve customer problems.

Qualifications:
• Excellent communications skills. You must communicate daily with team members and customers while at their site.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to learn to read and interpret wiring schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical literature.
• Computer proficiency to complete Work Orders, Quotes and Weekly Appointment Calendar.
• Neat appearance
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record. (No DUI’s)
• Must be willing to take a drug test.

Physical Demands:

The equipment manager reports to the golf course superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for the golf course assets including a mix fleet of equipment, service areas, tools and parts.  The individual reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent, and works with assistant management team in a collaborative, team manner

Located in Simpsonville South Carolina Holly Tree was designed by George Cobb in1973. The course has a master plan from Jeff Lawerance to redo greens complex in near future, as well as many other upgrades to the course. Holly Tree has a full scale of amenities including driving range and short game area, tennis courts, and a pool area. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work alongside the superintendent and other assistant superintendents. The assistant will be involved in short and long term planning and yearly budget process. We have Bernhard Reel and Bedknife grinders.

Overview:
The equipment manager reports to the golf course superintendent and/or the assistant golf course superintendent and oversees a comprehensive equipment maintenance program. This program includes the preventative maintenance and repair of all turf equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. Employment Standards:

Equipment Service Technician
Linville Land Harbor Golf Club, Linville, NC

Located in the beautiful high country of the North Carolina mountains, Linville Land Harbor Golf Club is an eighteen-hole, semi-private golf club located within a 750-acre community consisting of permanent and seasonal residents. The golf course is owned by the property owners and operates seasonally from early April through early November. The golf course turf is all cool season, with a mix of bent/Poa annua on our greens and a little bit of variety on the tees, fairways, and roughs. We have four full-time employees and add four seasonal employees during the golf season. The service technician will be responsible to the golf course superintendent and will make safety, cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail their top priorities. Our primary fleet is John Deere turf equipment with several other allied pieces in the inventory.

The service technician must have a good working knowledge in all facets of operating, maintaining, and repairing golf course equipment. Computer literacy relative to the job and record keeping is a necessity. The service technician may also be required to assist in morning maintenance activities and perform irrigation repairs. Some part-time weekend work will be required during the golf season. This is a new full-time position that has been approved by our board of directors and we are looking forward to finding a candidate that wants to help shape all facets of the job from the ground up.
